The new Tintin movie

I'm not a fan of Tintin. So I shouldn't really have watched the movie. But it was Holi and we really didn't have much else to do, so we sat and watched the film. (We means my husband and I - the baby doesn't count since the baby cannot give her opinion!)
This first film introduces Haddock, who is a constant companion to Tintin in the later series. I for one never liked the comic book series. I think it's because Tintin is a guy, and hence I could never really connect with him. Growing up I used to read Nancy Drew, Sweet Valley High, Pippi Longstocking, Enid Blyton.... I don't remember having any male role models as such. I used to listen to Paula Abdul and Michael Jackson, like doing jig saws and boss around my siblings - both younger to me.
Tintin never caught on.
The new movie isn't that great - it drags towards the end like a Hindi movie. It's a bit of an anti climax since the main treasure isn't found, just a map. You wonder why you spent all your time watching it in the first place.
Good to put you to sleep though.
Animation was awesome.
